St. Nick
This is a creation that has taken a while to finish. St. Nick is a whopping 6 ft tall and is entirely handmade. I started his head last year. It is handsculpted, painted and sealed. All of his hair has been sewn on in a corn-row type of way. Each row has many bundles of approx 6 or so strands a piece. His hat is made of a stained plaid and has jingle bells down the side and on the end sewn to it. His robe is made of a thicker drapelike material and is cuffed with aged sherpa. Large jingle bells that have been aged and sealed are centered down the front. His arms are made to be posed to some extent as well as his fingers. Lastly, he has been attached to a wooden base.
Harvey the Snowman
This is a 2007 creation and truly was made with a ton of love. Harvey is made from an old chenielle bedspread. His head was handsculpted by myself and then aged and sealed. His hat is also handmade by me from strips of old newspaper and then covered in pinstriped fabric. His scarf is made of the sleeves of the sweater. Harvey's coat is made from an altered black fuzzy coat. Lastly, Harvey's Cinnimon coating was done by my little girl. She helps Momma whenever there is grubbying to be done. It's an annual event. She's the one standing in the photo above.
