Apple Dumplin's
(Easy)
Preheat to 375
Approx. bake time: 20-30 mins
(depending on some ovens and if you turn them)
1 can of apple pie filling
2 cans of cresent rolls (16 cres. rolls)
1 can of Mt. Dew soda
1 tsp. cinnamon or to your taste
1 1/4 cups of sugar
1 stick of butter
*Mix and heat apple pie filling, cinnamon, sugar and butter in a sauce pan.
Grease your cassarole dish on the bottom as well as sides. Place (as you fill them) cresant rolls in the dish and place a spoonfool of your heated mixture in the center and then fold your cresent edges in over mixture( they will look kind of like a triagle diaper). Scoot them into place in your dish with a spoon because they will be sticky! Once all are placed, pour the rest of your mixture on top, filling in the gaps between the cresents as well. Then pour in the Mt. Dew.
Now bake until the tops are golden. (You may need to flip the dumplin's over after about 15 mins or so if you think the bottoms are still doughy...then bake until the bottoms are also golden.)
These are sooo awesome! It's like having the best Apple Pie only GOOEY and personally, I prefer the gooey goodness over the crispy crust of an apple pie.
Gram'a Peggy's Pineapple Cake
(Easy)
Preheat to 375
Approx. bake time: 40 mins
CAKE:
2 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
20 oz. can of Pineapple (crushed or done in a food processor)
2 tsp of baking soda
1 dash of salt
*Mix all ingred. and pour into a greased cassarole dish. Bake for approx. 40 mins or until the middle isn't runny. Set aside to cool.
GLAZE:
1 stick of butter
1 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of milk
1 sprinkle of vanilla
*Boil for approx. 5 minutes.
Then top the cake with the glaze. If the cake is still warm the glaze will absorb into the cake making it ... yep that's right ....GOOEY!
This cake is hard to stay away from and "I" don't even like pineapple! Oh yea, and if you make this once... your hubby my threaten divorce if you don't make this for EVERY holiday. Haha.
At least that's what Gram'a says.
